Last year was the year I, Judy Davis, the Direction Diva chose to change my life.
For far too long I had let the stress and chaos of the military lifestyle dictate my day-to-day experience and my weight. From food choices and steadily increasing numbers on the scale to the excuses justifying my infrequent visits to the gym, I was far from person I longed to see in the mirror. So in January of last year I set a weight loss goal to lose 50 pounds before I turned 50 (on March 21, 2015).
I’m proud to say that not only did I lose the weight, but I hit my goal in November and have continued to move forward even throughout the entire holiday season! People have asked me how I did it, and I can tell you it’s not rocket science. In fact I was able to lose 50 pounds while traveling and speaking throughout the launch of Right Side Up. How did I lose weight? With the following 4 simple changes that allowed me to successfully bring my sexy back one bite, one movement and one choice at a time.
4 ways to lose weight AND bring your sexy back:
- Drink up! The scale knew when I drank my water and rewarded me handsomely! Don’t like water, add some lemons or raspberries, plug your nose do whatever it takes. Water is your friend and is the single most important way to not only feel better, but look better too!
- Go Green! Add something green to every snack and meal. From leafy greens in your morning smoothie to a salad instead of those fries at dinner the more green you can incorporate into your diet the better you will feel.
- Stop Stressing! Stress is counterproductive to a healthy life. So spend some time finding ways to reduce the stress. I love Yoga, meditation, and walking outdoors to work for me! What are your best stress reducing strategies? Share them in the comments below! (For more tips and strategies about stress relief grab a copy of my new book or check out my blog)
- Get Moving! I don’t care what you do just get your butt up off the couch and off the chair. I started with walking around 1 block and now I look forward to 4 or 5 miles as often as I can. Do it and thank me later.
