Do you have a plan, or do you just going with the flow?
Yes, I will confess, I am a more “go with the flow” kind of person, and that works for me…well for the most part.
I love the energy of shifting gears, multi-tasking and doing what comes next, right up to the part that I am overwhelmed because there is so much on my plate and I don’t know what I am “supposed” to do. Do you ever feel that way?
Maybe it’s the time of year with all the hustle and bustle of PCS season or maybe it’s just that I have so many AMAZING new things “cooking” for release in the new year, but a few days ago it hit both myself and my business partner right between the eyes. We were in a twirl, spin, spazziness or whatever you want to call it, but we didn’t know which way was up anymore.
The last few months we have been “going with the flow” and some amazing connections, ideas and shifting has taken place. It’s was good until we realized that we didn’t have a clear picture of the where to go from here. We were all over the place because we hadn’t created a plan with the new found success.
It was an AHA moment when I realized that going with the flow is perfect SOME OF THE TIME, but in order to actually capitalize on all of your hard work, you have to come up with and execute some type of plan.
So, kicking and screaming, we had a “New Plan” meeting, and guess what….The spin, twirl and spizziness disappeared!
I was able to find my focus again, establish some new priorities and projects, and came out of it with a solid “do-able” action plan that will move us forward at lightning speed. No more putting out fires and stressing that something isn’t getting done!
This whole experience has reminded me that there is a healthy balance that comes with having a plan and leaving room to go with the flow.
So I ask you….do you have a plan?
